“We spend our days building ambulances, creating vehicles designed to save lives and bring hope to families in their hardest moments. But this past October, it was our own world that was turned upside down.
After a sudden, emergency hysterectomy, the dream of carrying our own child was taken away in an instant. To follow that hardship, a change in our workplace insurance left us with zero coverage for the one path we have left to parenthood: IVF and surrogacy.
For a long time, we didn’t know if we were meant to be parents. My wife once feared she wouldn’t be ‘good enough,’ but four years of marriage and a year of deep, heartfelt dreaming have shown us the truth: the love we have is meant to be shared. We are ready.
